Bradford Gymkhana A opened up a six-point lead at the top of Group A of the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League as they defeated Omars by four wickets.

M Elam scored 60 in Omars’ 151, S Khalik replying for Gymkhana with 57.

Previously undefeated BPR went down to last season’s champions Yorkshire LPS by four wickets in a high-scoring match. Jehan Zeb scored 56 in BPR’s 196 for eight but Dilish Patel (61) and G Ali (42) saw LPS home with six wickets down.

Highest scoring match of the day was between Bradford Gymkhana B, who made 317, and Muff Field, who fell just short on 303.

For the home side, Ghulam Rasool scored 70 and Habib Ur Rehman 61 before taking four for 26. Muff Field replied with Stephen Broadbent hitting 61, Mohammed Bismillah 71 and P Leach 52.

Ham Khan made 60 in Cambing’s 174 all out, which was enough to beat Heaton, who were reduced to 104 all out through Z Iqbal (5-16) and A Shah (4-18).

In Group B, Hallfield lead the way after they defeated Buttershaw St Pauls by eight wickets as Imran Masoor took four for 19.

Great Horton Meths are level with them after their 33-run win over Mandhata, A Moss scoring 47 in Meths’ 159 all out.

Keith Bottomley sealed the game for Meths with five for 39.

Paul Cutherbertson followed up last week’s century with 88 not out as Odsal Phoenix defeated Cross Roads and Daisy Hill by five wickets, Byron Greenwood scoring 45 for the visitors.

Clash of the day in Group C saw two of the top three teams meeting as Central YMCA hosted West Bowling, who came out on top by 13 runs.

Mark Saunders took five for 36 as West Bowling were all out for 98 but then Mohammed Rafiq helped bowl YMCA out for 85 as he took five for 15.

Bowling Baptist share the lead at the top when they made it three wins out of three with a 184-run victory over Cambing.

Akhtar Mahmood made 63, Ghazanfer Bashir 87 not out and Kasim Malik 51 as Bowling amassed a total of 285 for four and then bowled Cambing out for 101, Ray Breadavs taking four for 30.

Mayfield defeated Muff Field by 52 runs in a match dominated by the bowlers, Stuart Morrison (5-8) for Muff Field and Adam Beasley (7-20) for Mayfield.

Bradford Indians defeated Cross Roads & Daisy Hill Meths by 39 runs after Jitender Kumar scored 40 for Indians and Steve Close took four for 32 for Cross Roads.
