League secretary Joy Wigglesworth has warned in her address at the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League’s annual meeting that indiscipline by clubs will not be tolerated.

However, on a happier note, the attendance at league meetings had improved over the season, which showed a greater level of commitment from clubs.

Heaton’s application to enter a second team was approved, which has brought the number of teams up to 24, giving three groups of eight and a 21-game season in each division.

All the proposed rule changes were passed, which means that second teams may be promoted through the divisions, including A Group.

However, second teams playing in the highest group would be prevented from entering the H Broadbent Trophy (second team cup) and would instead be entered into the Sir James Roberts Cup (for first teams).

Cup fixtures can now be rescheduled over the following and subsequent Sundays (if available) rather than being played on weekday evenings.

A proposal to make all clubs responsible for inspecting their facilities prior to each fixture was accepted at the third year of asking, the vote being 18-5.

The fine for failing to re-mark the pitch during the tea interval was increased from £5 to £10, and umpires’ fees were increased from £20 to £22 per match with the fee for no play being £8 instead of £6.
