Jer Lane continued their charge towards promotion to the Halifax League Premier Division with a 69-run win over Thornton.
The foundations for victory were laid by a solid batting performance that saw them rack up 241 for nine, Johnny Lister top-scoring with 75 and Andrew Pinfield hitting 53. S Chapman took five for 59 for the visitors.
No batsman passed 30 runs for Thornton as their reply closed at 172 ,with Lister again starring with five for 48 and Phil Yeadon taking four for 68.
Jer Lane, the Towergate Halifax League’s only representative in the Crowther Cup, streaked into the quarter-finals with a thrashing of Bradford League Division Two outfit Undercliffe.
Replying to Undercliffe’s 222 for eight, Jer Lane’s Tony Dawson (59) and Rob McEvoy (99no) helped their side race past the visitors’ score with 17.1 overs still to bowl.
Jer now travel to Baildon in the last eight.
