YORKSHIRE will announce their new first-team coach this morning – with Andrew Gale reported to be the man who steps up.

The White Rose county are due to unveil their successor to Jason Gillespie as well as inform the players, who are back in training at Headingley.

Yorkshire have refused to give any clues as to the new man's identity but Gale was heavily linked with the role yesterday.

The 32-year-old four-day captain led Yorkshire to back-to-back County Championship titles in 2014 and 2015 but he endured a frustrating most recent summer with the bat.

Gale questioned his own future as skipper in September and has never hidden his desire to coach at the end of his playing days.
