Adil Rashid continued his good run of form with four wickets as an inexperienced Yorkshire side restricted Sri Lanka A to 275-9 from their 50 overs in today’s one-day friendly at Headingley.
Rashid, who also claimed three wickets in Tuesday’s Royal London Cup defeat to Gloucestershire at the venue, returned 4-57 from his ten overs, while there were also wickets for Jack Leaning, Ryan Gibson and James Wainman, who finished with 3-51 from eight.
Sri Lanka Test wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Chandimal, who hit 45 in the Test win over England at Headingley last month, led the way for the visitors with 100 off 105 balls but he was one of Rashid’s victims.
Opener Danushka Gunathilaka also made 65, with six wickets falling in the last 8.4 overs.
