Yorkshire have endured another disappointing morning with the ball at Scarborough as Durham took control by passing 500 before lunch on day of the ongoing LV= County Championship match.

Ryan Sidebottom did not hide his disappointment at the White Rose county’s opening-day performance yesterday, but unfortunately it has been more of the same today.

Michael Richardson has contributed to a Durham record against Yorkshire in first-class cricket - 524-8 from 128 overs at lunch - with a well made 58 not out.

He has shared partnerships of 49 for the eighth wicket with Mark Wood and an unbroken 61 inside 17 for the ninth with Jamie Harrison, who has played nicely for his unbeaten 31.

Sidebottom and Liam Plunkett were the only wicket-takers in the morning session. Sidebottom had Paul Collingwood lbw for 81 and Plunkett had Wood caught at cover for 20.
