Yorkshire have strengthened their grip on their LV= County Championship match against Derbyshire at Chesterfield by bowling the hosts out for 235 during today’s third morning.

The hosts, replying to 617-5 declared, resumed this morning on 94-5 and in danger of not even registering a point in the match.

But upon reaching 200, they avoided that embarrassment. Even still, it did not do much for their chances in the game.

Adil Rashid and Liam Plunkett struck twice apiece and Steve Patterson once today, while innings of 46 from Richard Johnson and a lusty 63 not out off 37 balls from Tom Poynton, including eight fours and three sixes, gave the hosts brief respite. Poynton took a particular liking to Rashid.

Yorkshire are expected to enforce the follow-on this afternoon. They have five sessions left in the match to take ten wickets.
