Direct rattled up 309, with Arfan Shah (85) and Adnan Mahmood (54) to the fore, along with Gully Mehmood, who hit a rapid 63.

The target looked a big challenge for hosts Hepworth & Idle but, at 212-7 and Sean McEvoy at the wicket with overs in hand, an unlikely home victory was still possible.

However, the dismissal of McEvoy for 96 saw Hepworth subside to 220 as victorious Halifax moved up to second spot in the table.

Leaders Pudsey Congs (143-9) extended their lead to a huge 41 points after defeating Crompark (131, Adam Patrick 5-43, Jamie Allen 41).

Divison B leaders Tong Park Esholt (133-3) maintained their unbeaten record with a seven-wicket win at Drighlington-Whitehall (129, Matthew Skelton 5-41).

Second-placed Pudsey St Lawrence (102-3) kept the pressure on the leaders when also completing a seven-wicket triumph after dismissing Crompark for 101.
The highlight in this section was at Bradford Moor, where almost 600 runs were scored.

Mohammed Farooq (94no), Irfan Sadiq (90), Mohammed Asghar (68no) and Adil Wahid (67) lashed the ball to all parts in reaching 334-3 for Moor.

Visitors Hepworth & Idle B made a spirited response. Paul Medley hit a typical knock, smashing his way to a superb 121 as Hepworth reached 244-9.

In the Inter-Divsional fixture, Division C leaders Pudsey Congs B (226-8, Zahid Mahmood 73) surprised their higher league rivals Cookridge B (225-8, Ahtsham Ellahi 73, Masood Akhtar 53, Zaheer Ahmed 51) when securing a two-wicket win.
