A dynamic performance by Yorkshire's seamers dismissed Middlesex for 175 on the third afternoon at Lord's and Andrew Gale then opted to enforce the follow-on as the White Rose sought to overwhem their second-placed opponents in the Division One game.

Beginning the afternoon session on 67-4, the Middlesex batsmen found neither run-scoring nor survival any easier in the afternoon than they had in the morning.

John Simpson was spectacularly yorked by Liam Plunkett for nine and the ex-Durham bowler also removed Adam London, brilliantly caught by third slip Joe Sayers for 28.

Plunkett also had Ollie Rayner lbw for one to leave the home side on 113-7.

A 28-run stand between Gareth Berg and James Harris delayed Yorkshire but Sidebottom returned to have Harris lbw for five. Steve Patterson cleaned up the innings by trapping Berg lbw for a courageous 54 and Collymore was caught by Hodd for a single to end one of Yorkshire's best sessions with the ball this season.

Patterson finished with 4-39 and Plunkett with 4-50. Sidebottom took 2-48.
