The Oakworth bandwagon continued on its merry way as they travelled to Embsay and rolled the village side over by ten wickets in Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division One.

The Shires Laners made a reasonable start but nobody was able to make a big score, and the innings closed on 144-8. Josh Robinson made 31 as Oaks’ Lewis Wrathall took 3-11 and Jack Davison 3-19.

Then Rob Hopkinson (78no) and Jack Hainsworth (59no) romped home for the leaders in just 26 overs.

Crossflatts just got the better of Barrowford, winning by 30 runs in a high-scoring game at Ryshworth Park.

The home side’s innings was stuttering at 109-6 before Lee Bailey (69) and A Majid (30) pulled things round for them to close on 223-9.

Ajmal Choudhry (44) and Assad (56) kept the Bull Holme side in the hut but three quick wickets undid them as Cammy Ayub took 3-45.

Ingrow St John’s put the previous week’s defeat behind them as they galloped home by seven wickets at Bradley.

Skipper James Heseltine carried his bat for 82no in a total of 149 for the hosts as Sarum Farooq took 3-15, before Omar Khatab (69) and Farman Abbasid (57) featured heavily in the successful reply.

Foulridge pulled off a fine four-wicket win at Cullingworth.

The Roydwood Terrace side made 171-8, with 14-year-old Will Grace hitting 56 and Graham Rankin 52 as Kafeel Ishfaq took 5-57. But it was not enough as Chris Brooker-Carey (45no) saw the Noyna side to the spoils.

Champions Haworth lost again, this time by two wickets to Bingley Congs.

Daniel Alderson (31) was the main contributor for the Bronte side as they struggled to 161. Neil Copping (4-40) and Matthew Roberts (4-66) were the chief destroyers before Roberts (23no) helped Congs edge home, alongside Adie Dibb (23no).

Mick Brooksbank (36) top-scored, and Neil Copping weighed in with 34, while Alderson also starred with the ball, taking 6-47.

Haworth Road (219-9) encountered few problems as they beat visitors Thornton (129-9) by 90 runs.

In Division Two, Brannan Lawn took the plaudits for Oakworth II with a magnificent 136no, including 17 fours and one six, in his side’s 87-run win at home to Cowling.

The hosts’ 229-9 proved far too good, Graham Rishton (68) being the only batsman to offer much resistance as the Keighley Road side closed on 142. Michael Davison (4-12) and Jack Ellis (3-33) were the chief destroyers.

Leaders Riddlesden’s journey to Denholme proved fruitful as they won by three wickets in a game of 401 runs.

The home side went first and made a creditable 200, led by Isaac Murray with a fine 75. Mohammed Zulfiqar (4-61) and Z Abbas (3-49) were the main wicket-takers.

A Khan (39), D Robinson (36), N Hussain (36) and A Raza (32) were the main contributors as the Grange Road side reached their target, despite a fine bowling effort from Luke Pickles (6-83).

Glusburn saw off Airedale by just 18 runs at Park Field. Karl Samson (58) and Nick Williamson (41) helped the home side to 213-8 as Nick Ahad claimed 5-63.

Ahad (71) then teamed up with Matthew Cox (37) to put on 104 for the first wicket but the innings closed on 195, with Lewis Robinson taking 4-21.

Barrowford II moved into joint-third spot after a 101-run defeat of visitors Sutton. Star  man was home skipper Jonny Ormerod, who  made 101no of his side’s 251 before bagging 4-35 in 12 overs to help dismiss the Royd Hill outfit for 150.

Out-of-form Long Lee crashed to a six-wicket defeat at Wilsden. Paul Stowell made 45 but the Golden View side tumbled from 67-0 to 93 all out as Stuart Wilson took 5-52 and Ben Jagger 4-15.

Ingrow’s Mark Price scored 51no to lead his side to a five-wicket victory at Pendle Forest.

Joint Division Three leaders Chatburn, Sandy Lane and Embsay II all won.

The Ribble Valley side were made to work hard for the points by Bradford & Bingley III, who made a moderate 134 before Chatburn struggled home by two wickets.

S Mitchell (43) and Mark Oldfield (31) were the main contributors to Sandy Lane’s 176 as Cononley’s Joel Grainger claimed 5-36 and Willy Naylor 5-44.

The South Craveners were all at sea in reply against Luke Ellis (5-29) and Steve Carass (4-29), making a dismal 85.

Embsay II made 169-6 at Haworth West End as Joe Holt (67) and Liam Chipman (42) made runs for the hosts before Morgan Davies (71) saw the Shires Laners to 171-5 in the 36th over.

Wilsden II are just one point behind the joint leaders as they continued their fine run.

They saw off Ingrow St John’s II by seven wickets at Street Lane. Anjum Shakeel and Rohid Ali both made 26 as I Khan took 4-20 and Mohammed Kiyani 3-28. Shahid Mahmood made 57no as the Windy Grove side reached 101-3 in 16.2 overs.

Eldwick & Gilstead were shot out for 76 at Wagon Lane by neighbours Crossflatts II.

Then Simon Timperley took 6-25 to have the eight-man visitors back in the hut for 55.

In Division Four, Riddlesden II leapfrogged opponents Cullingworth II into second place after chasing down 169-9 with two wickets to spare as S Hussain made 67no.

Leaders Skipton CI beat Thornton by eight wickets, while Glusburn are fourth after a fine 115-run victory over Airedale at Bradford Road, with Dominic Mortimer (48no) and Steve Brown (6-52) being their stars.

Pendle Forest recovered from 21-6 to reach 111 but Tony Crook (56) helped Ingrow II to a five-wicket win at Hainworth.

Bingley Congs II must have been fairly content with their 197-9 at home to Haworth as Rick Andrews notched 57 and Jack Atkinson took 7-98.

However, the Bronte side got home by two wickets thanks to Craig Ogden (58) and Scott Dyson (47), Michael Baines claiming 5-62.

In the top-of-the-table Division Five clash, Foulridge II lowered the colours of leaders Denholme II at Noyna.

The visitors were hustled out for 94, with Imran Khaliq taking 8-49 in a fine 17 overs. J Swarbrick 42 and Michael Gildea 37 led the successful eight-wicket reply.

Cononley II enjoyed their second victory of the season when they beat Sandy Lane II by 24 runs at the Coulthurst ground. Paul Hogg 50 and 6-45 was the star for the winners, while J Bland (59) and Raj Farooq (51) battled bravely for the vanquished.

Skipton CI II successfully defended a modest 122, beating Gargrave II by 28 runs at Sandylands.

Haworth West End were unable to raise a side, so Cowling II receive three points.

Finally Oakworth III entertained Chatburn II at Bronte Fields. Matty Lee (65) helped the home side to 190-8 as Chris Mulhearn took 5-38.

Then Lee, who usually keeps wicket, turned bowler and took 5-16 off seven overs to send the Ribble Valley side packing for 143, despite 69 from Mark Glover.
