Thornton were one of only two clubs - Bradshaw were the others - to bank maximum points in the Foster's Halifax League Premier Division on Saturday.

Bradford club Thornton reached an impressive 245, thanks chiefly to Nikki Hutchinson (88) and Michael Shanks (71).

Reece Jennison toiled in the heat, picking up 5-58 in his ten overs.

Josh Hutchinson and Greg Soames then took centre stage, both claiming four wickets as Blackley subsided to 179, Freddie Fox and Nazim Irshad each making 36.

Triangle set a target of 191 against Bradshaw, which the visitors knocked off for the loss of just two wickets.

Triangle’s Tony Sykes scored 50 off 61 balls in a knock of 57, while Simon Collins and Elliott Mercer both claimed three wickets.

Shaun Charnley and Wayne Cotton then took the fight to the hosts, Charnley finishing on 52no and Cotton 81no as they reached their target with ease.

Jer Lane strengthened their position at the top, courtesy of a three-wicket success at Booth.

The hosts gave Lane a run for their money, however, racking up an impressive 278-6 thanks to 70 from opener Patrick Thomas and 55 from the dependable Rob Laycock, J Williams claiming 3-92.

Once again that man Raqeeb Younis plundered big runs, hitting seven fours and six sixes in his 73 before becoming one of Moazzam Ayub’s four victims.

P Chapman (30no) and Nabil Khan (38no) ensured the victory with some lusty blows at eight and nine.

Tim Helliwell smashed nine fours and two sixes for his 65 which helped Sowerby Bridge achieve a four-run success over Clayton in a close encounter.

N Wilson chipped in with 47, but Bridge found themselves back in the hutch for 204 thanks to the combined efforts of Sam Wilson (5-93) and Nick Bickers (3-61).

Chris Ramsden showed the boundary no mercy either as he plundered 14 fours and two sixes to lead the reply from the front.

He eventually perished for 90 with the score on 129 and with five wickets left. However, time ran out on Clayton’s efforts as they finished on 200-7.

Mytholmroyd moved above Clayton following their 72-run demolition of bottom club SBCI.

Southowram increased their advantage at the top of Division One following an 11-run home success over Northowram.

Scott Griffiths (63) pushed the scoring along before Andy Measey added an unbeaten 57 to close the total out at 239-9, Raz Saghir keeping things in check with 5-83.

However, a difficult task took on epic proportions as Northowram slipped to 58-3 before Oliver Hemmingway (52), Gary Severn (49) and Chris Conroy (51) threatened a revival which came to nothing as the last three wickets fell for the addition of just two runs, Tom Belfield claiming 4-99.

Oxenhope finally turned the tables and won a close match at home after beating Outlane by seven runs.

The Oxenhope innings got off to a bad start, losing opener Liam Dyson to the second ball of the match, before Stuart Jackson (43) and Jack Barker (27) put on 50 for the second wicket.

Wickets then started to tumble and the home side were reduced to 102-7 before skipper-for-the-day Darren Hopkinson crafted 54 invaluable runs, supported by Reece Webb-Foster, to get the home side to 169, Neil Crossland returning the best figures with 4-30.

A couple of early wickets gave Oxenhope hope before the middle order of Ian Mellor (31), Alex Blagborough (24) and Ben Dickens (35) looked to have the game wrapped up with Outlane on 151-6 and needing just 19 to win.

Jack Smith (38no) also looked in fine form before opening bowler Dyson came back for a second spell with devastating effect as, assisted by Jackson (3-24), he wiped out the Outlane tail with 5-47 to snatch an unlikely victory.

Wibsey Park Chapel steamrollered Augustinians in Division Two, beating their struggling rivals by 104 runs.

The Augustinian bowlers were put to the sword as Wibsey hammered out an impressive 215-2 with Adam Beesley (56no) and Paul Ravenscroft (77no) leading the way.

Matthew Jordan then set to work with the ball on the way to figures of 3-57, with Richard Winn taking 4-14 from five overs to help scuttle the hosts for 111.
