Big hitting seemed to be the order of the day between VVS Laxman and West Bowling in Group C of the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League yesterday.

Laxman scored 234-7, but it was the speed at which the runs were scored which was the highlight.

Navdeep Nigam was top scorer with 68 from just 31 balls, including six sixes, and shared a partnership of 90 with Mahesh Patel.

Rama Patel then added 50 off 43 balls before Vinney Chauhan scored 49 off just 38 balls, Mohammed Rafiq taking 4-50 for West Bowling who were all out for 80 in reply.

This win lifts Laxmans to second in the table behind Mandhata.

Mandhata consolidated their lead at the top with a two-wicket win over Cambing, who made a respectable 163-8, with Suheev Afzal scoring 40 , but Mandata passed the score for the loss of eight wickets, with Pritesh Mistry making 53 and Hiren Morka 43.

Great Horton Chruch dropped to third after losing to Great Horton Meths.

Saim Butt scored 43 in Church's 117, Peter Bond taking 4-17 for Meths, who passed the score for the loss of six wickets. Finally, Hallfield had an eight- wicket win over Braford Indians.

Group A leaders Great Horton Church got back to winning ways with a seven-wicket victory over Omars.

Raees Ishtiaq, 17, celebrated his call up to the league squad with 4-26 and Umer Masood took 4-21 as Omars were all out for 139, Shabir Hussain top-scoring with 42 not out.

Sibtul Imran than scored 49 as Church passed the score with three wickets down.

Interlink are second after their 20-run win over Girlington. Mohammed Pandor took 5-60 to halt Girlington at 102.

Bradford Moor YCA are third after defeating Heaton by three wickets, while Salem Athletic are fourth after they defeated Hallfield in a high-scoring match.

Mohammed Waqas hit the highest individual score of the day with 122 not out in Salem's 268-5, but Hallfield never gave up the fight and ended on 186, Zeeshan Kazim scoring 69 with Mehr Sultan taking 4-13.

Cambing held out for a draw against Bradford Gymkhana, who made 205 with Mohammed Khan taking 4-50. Cambing replied with 143-8, Tariq Hussain taking 5-11.

In Group B, Apperley Bridge maintained their 100 per cent record with a six-wicket win over Greenfield but not without a shock.

Greenfield made 88, with Mohammed Junaid taking 5-12, but Apperley were 21-4 before Mohammed Rehan (33no) and Yasir Khan (42no) saw them reach their target without further loss.

Two matches in theis division ended up with identical score lines.

Allerton were all out for 67 at Cross Roads & Daisy Hill (Josh Butterfield 4-18), who passed the score for the loss of four wickets.

Mohammed Fehzan (5-15) and Nazir Ahmed (4-5) saw Salem Athletic dismiss Mayfield for just 40, Salem also winning by six wickets.

Girlington scored 170 against Bowling Baptists, with Basharat Hussain making 46 and Shazaid Yousef taking 4-43 for Baptists.

But a fine all round performance from Hussain (5-14) and 4-21 from Rizwan Mushtaq helped dismiss Bowling for 118.

Group D leaders Central YMCA were all out for 50 against Yorkshire LPS, for whom Bhavin Patel took 4-12, LPS triumphing by nine wickets.

Dave O'Connell score 45 for Buttershaw St Paul's, who had a five-run win over Great Horton Meths (105 v 100).

In an internal Muff Field battle, the A team came out on top.

Steven Broadbent scored 61 and Hasan Malik 70 not out as the A team scored 197-6. Then James Fallon took 4-25 as the B team were all out for 147.
