JCT600 Bradford League treasurer David Young is delighted that they have made a small annual profit.

The accounts for the year ended September 30, 2012 showed a surplus of £170, which Young called “an excellent result”.

He added: “We are not here to make a huge profit. We are here to help the clubs.”

To that end, the league, mindful of the effect the awful weather had on finances this summer, refunded the clubs’ annual subscriptions of £50 each.

Switching hats to his chief executive role, he said: “The league website is, in my opinion, the best in the country.

“In the past we have brought in laptop scoring and the electronic registration system. Now we want to help the umpires with an electronic appointments system and money for some new coats.”

Newcomers New Farnley were also warmly welcomed.

League chairman Keith Moss also congratulated Bankfoot and Bowling Old Lane on their forthcoming 150th anniversaries.
