Things have turned around quickly for Albion just as new assistant manager Pav Singh predicted.

The club had a difficult start to their second season on the football pyramid after joining the semi-pro ranks.

Some of their players were poached once they were in the spotlight while others drifted away in the close season, leaving boss Kulwinder Sandhu not just with a new assistant but almost a new squad.

Former Bradford City and Leeds Untied youth coach Singh said: “We had three players from last season at the start and the lads didn’t know each other so training and creating a bit of banter in the dressing room was important.

“I do a lot of the coaching and the lads have enjoyed the sessions. You have to keep things fresh and keep enthusiasm high even when results aren’t going your way.

“There is a lot to work on because this is the modern game and teams are trying three across the middle, playing 4-3-3 or even 4-5-1, with the wide men pushing up when in possession.

“There are a lot of young coaches now who are always trying something different.

“You need team structure and cohesion and I knew that would come as the lads played and trained more together.”

Singh’s philosophy appears to be working. Albion lost three of their first five games but have won four and lost just one of their last six.
