Yorkshire Amateur League sides fared well in the first round of the Bradford & District Cup .

Calverley United beat Abundant Life 3-2 in a see-saw match. Nylle Rosendale and Garry Trewhitt gave Calverley a 2-0 lead but Abundant Life hit back to level before Rosendale pounced on a poor back pass to score the winner.

St Bedes progressed after a 4-2 win at home to West Riding County Amateur League Division One outfit Campion Reserves.

Ian Horrocks was in outstanding form for St Bedes, bagging a hat-trick to add to Gary Litvenov’s goal.

In the Heavy Woollen Cup , AFC Heckmondwike beat Morley Town 6-2. Elliott Williams was in rampant mood, netting four times, supported by Jamie Wasley and Joe Green. Chris Pearson scored one in each half for Morley.

In the Senior A section of the League, Pudsey -based Grangefield lost their 100 per cent record, going down 3-2 to North East Leeds, while Stanningley OB went down 4-3 at home to new leaders Gildersome Spurs OB.

In Division Two , St Bedes Reserves recorded a 4-1 away win over Woodhouse Moor Meths. The in-form Jordan Northin hit a hat-trick, with the promoted Jerome Yewdall adding to his double last week to help Bedes jump to third.

Calverley United Reserves lost 3-2 to Colton Institute Res in Division Three . Two goals in successive weeks for Lee Bryant failed to stave off defeat for Calverley.

Heckmondike GSOB recorded their first win of the campaign thanks to goals from Daniel Stanley, Scott Molloy, Andrew Parry, James Kershaw and Dave Blakeley as they beat Shire Academics 5-1.
