Guiseley manager Steve Kittrick is hoping three of his players have returned from international duty free from injury ahead of Saturday's home game against Bishops Stortford.

Guiseley were one of three joint leaders in the Blue Square Bet North Division with a 100 per cent record before last weekend’s aberration.

Kittrick’s men went down 4-0 at Chester FC, which left them three points adrift of Chester and Brackley Town, who won 1-0 at Bradford Park Avenue.

Kittrick said: “The lads are massively keen to bounce back from that. We haven’t spoken about it during the week at training because we know we can’t turn the clock back. We have to be positive and go forward.

“We just weren’t at the races and you have to give Chester credit because they had had us watched and worked hard to stop us - fair play to them for that. I expect a good response from my players though.”

The Lions may have lost for the first time this season but they are still well placed in third following six straight wins to kick off their season.

Saturday's visitors are mid-table, having gathered 11 points less than the Lions.

Skipper Simon Ainge and Stephen Brogan both started for England C in their 2-1 victory last night in Belgium, while Josh Wilson was on the bench for the International Challenge Trophy Group A clash.

Kittrick added: “The players got back into England today, and we hope they are okay after representing their country.

"We do have injuries though because, although Danny Boshell has come back in, his brother Nicky is out now and Danny Forrest has been down with a virus all week so we will have to see how he is.”
