Farsley have snapped up three players from Evo-Stik Division One rivals Garforth Town.

Midfielder Chris Walton, centre back Rob Pacey and striker Adam Priestley have all migrated to Throstle Nest.

The two clubs featured in the play-offs last season but Farsley’s rivals have endured a difficult close season that has seen players and staff drifting away.

Experienced Walton will need no introduction as he began his career with Farsley Celtic under the guidance of then youth-team manager Eugene Lacy. Walton followed Lacy to Liversedge and enjoyed a successful spell there before moving on to play higher in the pyramid.

Pacey will add competition for last season’s centre-back pairing of joint assistant manager Mark Jackson and Josh Ratcliffe.

Priestley was top scorer for Garforth last term.

The news comes after Farsley agreed a pre-season friendly with Blue Square North outfit FC Halifax Town. The Shaymen will visit the Nest on Tuesday, July 24, which means Farsley’s trip to play Wayne Benn’s Hemsworth MW has been put back two days to Thursday, July 26 (7.30pm).
