Former Scunthorpe winger Garry Thompson has become City's sixth summer signing.
Thompson will link up with his new team-mates tomorrow morning for the first day of pre-season fitness tests.
The 31-year-old has signed a deal for one season but with the option of a further year in the club's favour.
He was a City target for Stuart McCall four years ago at Morecambe but instead opted for the Iron, who were then in the Championship.
Thompson was one of ten players released by them in the summer after making 113 appearances, scoring 20 goals.
He is equally at home as a centre forward as well as on the right flank and Phil Parkinson was delighted to get him on board.
Parkinson said: "I met Garry last week and we had a good chat. He seemed very motivated to do well here and I think he will.
"Garry has played at Championship and League One level so he's another decent acquisition.
"He really wants to get going again and looks in good shape."
