Liversedge are looking for a new management team after Billy Miller and assistant Lee Ashforth quit their roles to take charge at Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Miller’s second spell at Clayborn came to an end after announcing he would be stepping down as manager.

He had previously been number two to Sean Regan at Sedge but did not want to be considered as the replacement when Regan left to take up a full-time coaching role at Scunthorpe United.

Miller returned to take charge and steady the ship 18 months ago after a brief stint in the hot seat for Stuart Waddington.

Former manager and current chairman Steve Newton took over as caretaker after Waddington’s departure until Miller showed an interest.

He brought in former goalkeeper Ashforth to help him but the pair have now moved on to take the helm at Evo-Stik League Division One outfit Harrogate Railway next season.

Miller is based in Harrogate and, after citing the time-consuming journeys to Clayborn as a major factor in him stepping down, he accepted the job at his home-town club.

Sedge are inviting applications for the vacant position with a closing date of Monday, June 11. CVs can be sent directly to the club or in the first instance interested parties can contact Newton by phone on 07967-683473 or e-mail to steve.newton@aeindustrial.co.uk.

In a brief statement the club thanked Miller and Ashforth for their work and commitment to Liversedge and wished them every success with their new club.
