It promises to be a rousing finale to the season for Bradford City women.

The senior team play at Valley Parade tomorrow at the Bradford City AFC Community Day, when they will take on Huddersfield in an exhibition match (1.30pm, with free entry). And the under-16s face Tingley Athletic in the morning in a junior cup final.

The first team finished the season in third place in the FA Women’s Northern Combination.

The runners-up spot was a possibility when Sheffield Wednesday folded with one game to go but the League decided to retain their playing record rather than expunge it and face an extensive readjustment that would not, ultimately, affect promotion or relegation outcomes.

The club’s presentation night took place at Woodhall Hills Golf Club, with former City player Wayne Jacobs and David Syers the special guests.

Jess Pearson, Laura Gadd, Dom Hoad and Sarah Binns collected A team awards while Charlotte Stuart, Abby Parkin, Bridie Hannon, Faye Boshell and Emma Dobson were the first-team winners on the night.
