Thackley could not prevent Retford winning the Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division title last night as they went down 3-0 at the Nottinghamshire club.
It was the last league game of the season for both clubs but the Dennyboys have the League Cup final to look forward to against Shirebrook Town on Monday.
There was better news for Eccleshill in Division One as they ended their campaign with a 3-1 victory at basement outfit Appleby Frodingham.
The home side took the lead before the break but second-half goals for Andy Fieldhouse and Marcus Edwards within a six-minute spell turned the game before Edwards added a late third for the Eagles.
