Blue Square Bet North runners-up Guiseley begin their quest for promotion via the play-offs tonight when they visit Nuneaton.
The Lions finished the campaign 11 points clear of third-placed FC Halifax Town but, with just one automatic promotion place, they now have to take the tough route.
The Shaymen also play the first leg of their semi-final tonight when they travel to Gainsborough Trinity.
Both Guiseley and Halifax will have home advantage in the second leg ties on Sunday.
Guiseley spokesman Stuart Allen said: “There were a lot of changes for the last game because Steve (manager Kittrick) wanted to keep some of his players rested for this game.
“There were no fresh injuries, although Chris Senior came off late on with cramp and obviously James Walshaw will be suspended for both games against Nuneaton.”
Walshaw is sitting out the second of a three-game ban tonight but he would be available should Guiseley reach the final.
If the season’s form is any guide then Guiseley would face Halifax in a one-off for promotion, however Nuneaton will feel aggrieved after having to take a six-point deduction for inadvertently fielding an unregistered player.
