Brighouse TOWN reclaimed third place in the Premier Division with three points from a 5-4 Baris Northern Counties East League thriller at Lincoln Moorlands Railway.

Danny Hull gave Town an early lead before Tom Garrick levelled for Lincoln, although the visitors still went into the break a goal to the good after Sam Akeroyd’s 42nd-minute strike.

Akeroyd added his second after the interval and Greg Porter stretched Town’s lead to 4-1.

Lincoln pulled one back through Tom Bachelor before Tom Matthews made it 5-2, only for Jake Thompson and Sean Cann goals – the latter in stoppage time – to make it a nervous ending for Brighouse.

THACKLEY also climbed one place in the table, a 2-0 win at Parkgate leaving the Dennyboys ninth.

Deroy White came off the bench to score the opening goal in first-half stoppage time and fellow substitute Darrell Kendall netted the second four minutes from time.

In Division One, ECCLESHILL UNITED lost their penultimate game of the season 2-1 at lowly Askern Villa.

Marcus Edwards had given the Eagles an interval lead but Gary Mundy’s double, the second goal coming ten minutes from time, saw the home side hit back to win.
