Fairbank United recovered from a 2-0 interval deficit to beat TVR United on penalties in the Spen Valley League’s Sonder Heating Cup.
TVR are second in the Premier Division and perhaps predictably took control in the first half against their fifth-placed hosts.
But Fairbank responded well and forced the tie to extra time and penalties as goals from Faisel Shabir, Usman Amir and Kamran Khan made the final score 3-3.
They then won the shoot-out 3-2 to advance to the third round.
There were no further second-round shocks, although mid-table Premier side Girlington were pushed all the way before winning 2-1 against Norfolk of Division One.
Rehaan Butt and Usman Hussain netted for the winners, with Mohammed Shoaib replying.
An all-Premier Division tie saw BD3 United edge out Ravensthorpe Rangers 1-0 thanks to a goal by Felia Hussain.
One delayed first-round clash also went with form as Premier side West Bradford Spartans won 5-2 against Division One hosts ALC.
Spartans did trail at half-time but a Phil Holmes hat-trick turned things around, with further goals added by Danny Neary and Bobby Canning.
David Niblock and Ashley Dutton were on target for ALC.
Spartans will have a walkover in the second round after BD3 United Reserves and Mount Athletic were both excluded from the competition.
