Most West Riding County Amateur League sides are involved in district FA cup competitions at the weekend, with the Bradford & District FA Saturday Senior Cup taking centre stage locally.
West Yorkshire League side Fields FC, who lifted the cup last season with victory over Bradford Park Avenue, start their defence of the trophy with a difficult second-round tie at County Amateur side Tyersal.
With both sides in mid-table in their respective leagues, it should be a close tie. Eccleshill United and Thackley both enter the competition at this stage too. United visit Wibsey, while Thackley host Spen Valley League side West Bradford Spartans. Campion visit Old Headingley reserves at Bradford University’s Woodhall Lane ground.
In West Riding County Amateur League Division One, Dudley Hill Athletic visit AFC Emley tomorrow night (7.30), while Ventus Yeadon Celtic will be looking to recover from their shock 7-0 defeat at Bronte Wanderers last Saturday with a trip to Bay Athletic reserves.
