Luke Oliver today promised the end is in sight to City’s clean sheet drought.

Oliver was in the last Bantams back four to stop their league opponents from scoring in the 1-0 win at Macclesfield on April 5.

Torquay banged in three at Valley Parade four days later to begin a run of 18 games since then without a shut-out.

As the same opponents return to West Yorkshire this afternoon, the lofty centre half admitted it is about time City – who have conceded 20 league goals so far – slam the back door shut again.

Oliver said: “We can’t force the matter and it will just happen in time but it’s definitely coming.

“We’ve had a few games when the other team’s just scored ‘worldy’ goals and you’re left thinking ‘what are we supposed to do here?’.

“As a defender, you take pride in walking off the pitch knowing that the opposition weren’t able to score. It makes you happy.

“But we know it will change. The performances have been there and as a club we’re looking upwards not down.”
