In the lower tier of the Baris Northern Counties East League, there is local interest at the top end of the table with Eccleshill United, who are still the team of the moment with five straight league victories before last weekend’s unsatisfactory abandonment, taking on Worksop Parramore.
The Eagles, who are fifth, are at home against the leaders and in very buoyant mood after their recent run.
They have two games in hand on Worksop, who are five points better off, so a victory for the Eagles would have huge repercussions on the title race.
Albion Sports will also have one eye on Eccleshill’s result because they are fourth and were victorious at Worksop the game before last.
On Saturday, Sports make the short trip to Yorkshire Amateur, who are ten places below them.
