Farsley manager Neil Parsley is hoping he gets a settled squad soon after a start to the campaign that has been dogged by injuries and unavailability.

Last season’s skipper Dominic Krief has been serving a long suspension held over from last season, Mark Bett suffered a long-term injury, close-season signing Luke Gibson has not featured recently and Ryan Serrant has now picked up a knee injury.

“Dom has played a few minutes here and there and it is nice to have him back involved,” said Parsley.

“Mark will be another month or so with his hamstring and I hope Ryan won’t be out too long. I think people know how much I value him because, since I have been manager, Ryan has been one of the mainstays.”

Gibson is fit but is not ready to play just yet following a family bereavement which hit him hard.

Parsley said: “His head is all over the place and I really feel for him. We are prepared to help him through his personal trauma while not considering him for selection. It will take as long as it takes.

“We have good players at the club and we will get by. It would be nice to have a fully-fit squad with no problems whatsoever but this is the real world and that will never happen.

“Full credit should go to all the boys who have been involved so far because, despite everything, it hasn’t been a bad start to the season in terms of results.”
