Robbie Ellis of Royd House completed a hat-trick of DAVID IKE ROBINSON MEMORIAL HANDICAP titles after beating Emma Ramsey (Guiseley) in the final.

Ellis defeated the 2010 Junior Handicap winner 21-6 to add to his previous 2009 and 2010 triumphs in the event, sponsored by the Bloodworth family of Ladyhill.

It was tough for the Royd House youngster in his opening game against Jamie Haigh (Keighley), trailing 19-12 before finding some key bowls to sneak home 21-20.

He then eased passed Kate Stockdale (Guiseley) 21-9 in the quarter-finals, before edging a last-four battle against Danny Teale (Heckmondwike) 21-18.

* Spen Victoria were well beaten in the YORKSHIRE CUP final, losing by 64 chalks to a strong Thongsbridge side at Cleckheaton Sports.

Thongsbridge made the better start to lead by 14 chalks after four jacks, despite 21-19 wins from Spen duo Harry Seehra and Andy Ellis.

Spen found it tough going as the Huddersfield side carded four more winners to lead by 46 chalks after eight jacks and managed just two more winners (Gary Dawson 21-18 and Peter Senior 21-20).

Daykin advanced by defeating Richard Howson (Sheffield) 21-7, Debbie Farmer (Chesterfield) 21-11 and Ryan Clarke (Sheffield) 21-16.
