The performance of the day in the Mewies Solicitors Craven League undoubtedly came in Division Five at Denholme II, where one of their juniors had a stunning afternoon.

Toby Priestley, who is 14, and Jack Harrison, 47, put on 101 for the third wicket against Haworth West End II.

The former, who was dropped early on in his innings, went on to to make a fantastic 103, which helped his side to 211, with Jack Middleton taking 4-92.

The Bronte side responded well. Captain Dale Walsh made 46 and junior players Liam Chipman and Middleton 41no and 27 respectively.

However, Priestley’s off-spin proved too much in the end as he took 7-52, including a hat-trick, in 13.4 overs to help the innings close on 154.

With only four weeks of the season left, Oakworth now have a handy four-point lead at the top of the First Division.

They were at Cononley and encountered few problems, overcoming the bottom side by ten wickets.

The South Craveners were knocked over for 87, with Steve Filkin taking 5-12 off 10.2 overs. In reply, Jack Hainsworth blasted six sixes and six fours in his 70no to go with Joel Gallagher’s sedate 21no.

Cullingworth tackled Crossflatts at Roydwood Terrace and went down by three wickets in a niggly game. Stewart Rodger (72) and Gareth Marshall (41) helped the home side to 213-6. Then Amer Ayub stoked a superb 111 to set up the unexpected victory.

Third-placed Haworth Road went down again at Barrowford.

Ajmal Choudrhy (68) and Freddie Bailey (37no) were the backbone of the Bull Holme side's 157-9, with Mohammed Zahid taking 4-43.

Choudrhy followed this with 3-45 to go with Mohammed Irfan’s 4-31 as the ten-man visitors were held to 104.

Next-to-bottom Cowling enjoyed a fifth successive victory to draw level on points with Embsay.

They entertained Thornton and brushed them aside for 39. Only Rob Foster (11) made double figures as Steve Richardson took 6-15 and Charlie Hassan 4-20.

The hosts lost three wickets reaching eight, and then Martyn Dalby clattered 28no to take them to the winning post. Mark Paxton took all three wickets to fall for 14.

Embsay were at Haworth and collapsed to 79 all out, despite a battling 44 from Duncan Ward. Richard Ellis claimed 4-33 and Damian Rowell 3-24. The Bronte side sauntered home by eight wickets in the 25th over.

Bradley reaped a welcome three points when they saw off visitors Bingley Congs by 29 runs. The foundation of the victory was an opening partnership of 98 by Michael Clarkson (33) and James Heseltine, who finished with 78.

A quickfire 31 by Neil Andrews boosted the total to 192-9 in their overs as Neil Copping finished with 6-63 off 19.4 overs.

Chris Dibb made a fighting 72 for the Beckfoot side as they closed on 163, with Heseltine taking 5-52 to round off a good afternoon for himself.

The clash of the top two in the Second Division - Airedale and Ingrow at Bradford Road - went the way of the leaders in impressive style.

Opener Alan Broadley made 58 as the Hainworth side struggled to 121 against some tight bowling led by A Mahmood, who took 4-37.

The home side's Matthew Cox then took the game by the scruff of the neck and blasted 98no as the target was reached in the 31st over.

Sutton move in to second spot by virtue of losing fewer games than Ingrow with the points level.

They were at Embsay and, in a 30-overs-per-side game, restricted the Shires Lane side to 86-7.

Juniors Morgan Davies (23no) and Struan Mackenzie (10no) put on an undefeated 33 for the eighth wicket as Ben Bolland and Justin Holdsworth took three wickets apiece.

The Royd Hill side were given a scare as four wickets tumbled for 29. Then A Raza came to the rescue with a timely 49no which saw them to victory by six wickets.

John Lockley (68) and Neil Cartledge (46) helped Chatburn to 232-9 at Glusburn as Jack Roberts took 4-53.

Lockley then took a match-winning 8-61 off 19.2 overs as the Park Field side fell 40 runs short. Michael Hebden offered most resistance with 53.

Sandy Lane’s push for promotion looks to have lost momentum as they went down again, this time to Long Lee by four wickets at Greenwood Park.

The home side made 134, with Luke Ellis making 28 as Jonathan Green took 3-36 and Jamie Robinson 3-41. At one point the visitors were wobbling at 69-5 but recovered composure to take the spoils.

There was a cracking game at Wilsden, where Riddlesden were the visitors. The Grange Road side made 204-8, with Mohammed Arshad top scoring with 77.

Dave Henson made 58 as the Windy Grove side closed on their target. However, Nasser Razak got among them and when the seventh wicket went down at 176, the door was ajar.

It wasn’t to be, though, as the hosts scrambled home by two wickets with just six balls to spare. Razak finished with an impressive 7-62 off 12 overs.

Foulridge’s preparation for the Wynn Cup final didn’t go to plan as they went down by 42 runs to next-to- bottom Pendle Forest at Noyna.

Kev Lyons made 67no as the Fence side posted 180-6, with David Spokes taking 4-47. Only Chris Gildea, with 40, offered much resistance as the home side were dismissed for 138, with Andrew Townsend taking 4-43 and Peter Townsend 4-51.

Third Division leaders Oakworth II received three points after the late withdrawal of Cononley II.

Second-placed Ingrow St John’s were dismissed for 89 by Eldwick & Gilstead at Street Lane. Mohammed Qadeer top-scored with 32 as Andy Maude claimed 4-16.

The Dick Hudson’s side could only muster 55 in reply, however, with Shaukat Ali taking 3-4 and Qadeer 3-14.

Denholme were in sparkling form at Penistone Park. Rob Taylor (66) and Adam Taylor (56) put on 109 for the first wicket, which was the platform for the rest of the team to push on to 243. Corey Benfield bowled his heart out to finish with 8-120 off 22.3 overs. Joe Holt made 41 as Haworth West End replied with 130-9.

George Fletcher made 86 of Cullingworth II’s 150-7 at Crossflatts II. The hosts got home by two wickets, despite Dave Etherington’s 7-62 off 19 overs, Mark Jones top scoring with 39.

Tom Cowburn (85no) led Gargrave to a fine nine- wicket win at Haworth Road.

There was no play between Skipton CI and Glusburn II at Sandylands.

Fourth Division leaders Barrowford II had a scare away to Bradford & Bingley III before scraping home by just three runs.

Second-placed Ingrow St John’s II saw off Ingrow II by 34 runs at Hainworth. A Ahmed (59no), Sarum Farooq (50) and Nadeem Saftar (4-44) were the stars for the winners.

Chris Crook (73) and Martin Casey (4-57) tried their best for Ingrow, Steve Butterfield (5-38 and 56no) was the main man in Long Lee II's five-wicket victory over Sandy Lane at Golden Acre.

I Siddique (62no), Bob Morrisroe (6-17) and Darren Shields (4-26) were the main contributors to Riddlesden II's 53-run victory over visitors Wilsden II There was no play between Pendle Forest II and Bradley or Chatburn II and Little Marsden.

Haworth consolidated the leadership of the Fifth Division and put one hand on promotion as they lead by ten points over Bingley Congs II with 12 points left to play for.

Derek Bright (49) and Adie Ratcliffe (46) helped the Bronte side to 161-7 at Gargrave. The home side, which included five under-15s, never got to grips with things and slumped to 41 all out, with no batsman reaching double figures.

Gary Searby (6-13) and Dave Walsh (4-27) were the demon bowlers.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Eldwick and Gilstead II never really got going on a tricky surface.

Only D Day (32) made a significant score as Alan Hayes spun his way to 5-16. Visitors Airedale II made heavy going of the run chase, losing seven wickets in pursuit before dragging themselves over the line as Day finished with 4-33.

The best bowling of the day came at Bingley Congs II's, where Foulridge II's Imran Khaliq took 9-24 as the home side were dismissed for 97. Then Michael Gildea (50no) saw his side to victory by seven wickets.

Cowling II's mini revival goes on, albeit after a narrow eight-run margin at Thornton II.

Zahid Shafait (52no) and Ben Davy (44) helped the visitors to 153-4. Then Zahid Shafait (6-36 )and Sajid Shafait (4-74) bowled unchanged to claim the points.

There was a tighter margin of victory – seven runs – as Oakworth III just held on. Alan Fothergill made 80 of the Cure Hill side's 196-7.

The Royd Hill side fell agonisingly short, with Tony Walton making 45 and Paul Williams 38 as Michael Davison took 3-43.

There was no play between Pendle Forest III and Skipton CI II due to waterlogged conditions.
