The Spen Valley League could be facing an uncertain start to their season as four clubs are yet to be affiliated ahead of the new campaign.

A letter from the West Riding FA highlighting the issue has prompted league secretary Mavis Ward to contact the clubs in question and urge them to rectify the situation, otherwise they cannot be accepted for the forthcoming season.

Further disruption has arisen due to some clubs not yet submitting all their details to the league, which should have been handed in four weeks ago at the annual meeting, meaning printers are being prevented from producing the league documents.

Clubs are also being asked to attend the league’s next meeting on Monday at their Heckmondwike Cricket & Social Club headquarters, where the new match-based discipline system being implemented in the Spen Valley League will be top of the agenda.
