Eddie Spencer carded a nett 63 to win the Captain’s Day main prize at Crow Nest Park.
Dean Wilson is this year’s captain and his flagship event attracted a record 107 competitors.
Early conditions were reasonably calm but the wind picked up during the day, so it was perhaps surprising the top two scores came from later starters.
Spencer was the popular winner but he was just a single shot ahead of runner-up Graham Thomas.
The Ladies Captain’s Day competition was won by current captain Ruth Wilson, the wife of Dean, while Scott Henry triumphed in the juniors event.
