Farsley 1 Bridlington Town 1

Farsley held on to top spot in the Kool Sport Northern Counties East League Premier Division after slugging out an entertaining draw at Throstle Nest with title rivals Bridlington.

Farsley will feel it was two points dropped as they enjoyed most of the play against Brid.

They took an early lead when skipper Dominic Krief fired a close-range volley high into the net in the sixth minute.

The home side failed to make the most of their domination and their slender advantage proved to be not enough as Brid seized on a drop in Farsley’s energy levels and work-rate.

They forced a little spell of their own and were rewarded when Gareth Owen fired in a good shot from a tight angle.

The 70th-minute equaliser reawakened the home side, who stepped back into top gear, but the home side still looked dangerous on the break in a breathless end to the game.
