Lee Bullock column:Hopefully I’ll be back training properly next week and I can’t wait.

I’ve been out a month and it seems like ages when you’re not able to join in.

It goes without saying that you aren’t much use at a football club when you’re injured. It can’t be helped, of course, but you’re not there just to hang around the gym all day.

So it felt great this week to be allowed outside again and I’ve been doing a lot of running and ball work with the physio.

For the first couple of days, you’re not really focusing on doing the work but making sure you get through everything without affecting the injury.

It’s a psychological hurdle and once you’ve cleared that, you can gradually look to build up.

Everyone moans that it’s boggy and waterlogged at Apperley Bridge but it’s a lot better than being stuck in the gym all the time. You are back among the lads again and feel part of it.

From a selfish point of view, I wasn’t too upset to see the Macclesfield game get called off. I’ve not been playing for coming up to four weeks and have only missed two so far. That’s no different to being suspended for picking up ten yellow cards.

It means we’re going to have a big spell of midweek matches later on which will suit me fine when I’m fit again.

The lads still had a game last Saturday with a good 11 v 11 at Hanson School and the gap has helped the likes of Flynny and Rammers, as well as allowing Scott Dobie more time to bed in to his new surroundings.

Now we’ve got four decent teams coming up, starting with Wycombe at home on Saturday.

They’ve got a very strong away record but so did Bury before they came here last month and we produced one of our best performances to beat them.

We’ve proved enough this season already that records and unbeaten runs count for absolutely nothing. That’s the nature of the league we are in.
