Guiseley’s Olympic rowing silver medallist Debbie Flood will be one of the big names in attendance at the Tribute to Sport Dinner 2011 at Headingley Carnegie Stadium in Leeds on Friday, February 4.
Flood won silver in the quadruple sculls at both the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games, as well as collecting gold in the women’s quad in the 2006, 2007 and 2010 World Championships.
The event is organised by SportsAid Yorkshire and Humberside and will be celebrating Yorkshire’s finest sporting talent.
Other famous names present will be Yorkshire soccer referee Howard Webb, who officiated in the 2010 World Cup final, and Lord Moynihan, chairman of the British Olympic Association.
The previous Tribute to Sport dinner raised over £9,000 for the region’s emerging sports stars.
SportsAid has been helping talented young British sportsmen and women since 1976, and in that time has distributed over £30 million.
Anyone interested in booking a place at the dinner can e-mail yorkshire@sportsaid.org.uk or ring Rob Clarke (01132-427627).
