Keighley professional Liam O’Neill carded a level-par 72 to leave him 36th in the 71-strong field after the opening round of second-stage European Tour qualifying school in Spain today.
The 19-year-old was six shots off the lead held jointly by Spaniard Luis Claverie and Englishman Paul Dwyer at the Hacienda del Alamo course in Murcia. Qualifying is also taking place at three other courses in Spain.
