A convincing win over East Bierley saw Silsden’s ladies crowned Bradford & District Evening League golf champions.
The team of Denise Edwards and Gill Shuttleworth, plus mother and daughter Jackie Starkie and Claire Smith, won all four of their matchplay games in an emphatic final success at Woodhall Hills.
Team captain Edwards said: “We’re thrilled with the result.
“East Bierley are a strong team and we certainly didn’t expect to win by this margin. Unfortunately for them, they caught us on a good day.”
Twenty teams from the Bradford area compete in the Evening League. The top four points winners went through to the semi-finals at Branshaw.
Silsden – for whom Smith is also a Yorkshire county player – reached the final by beating Northcliffe, while East Bierley overcame West Bradford.
