New Sedge boss Stuart Waddington has experienced a difficult start to his tenure but the manager insists he is pleased with the progress.
“We have just started to pick up and, once we have everyone fit, we will be fine,” said Waddington this week.
“My start here would have looked much better if we had been finishing our chances because we could, and should, have picked up a lot more points.
“We are creating a lot and we are in games but keep ending up with nothing to show for it.
“Having eight players out through injury doesn’t help but they are all training and will be back over the next few games.
“I’m happy with what I’ve seen from everyone around the club now.”
Sedge are third-from-bottom after three draws and three defeats but gained an encouraging point against Scarborough Athletic last week.
However, Waddington was disappointed they didn’t get all three, saying: “We had a two-goal lead at half-time but, if we had taken our chances, we would have been out of sight.
“Scarborough Athletic are one of the promotion favourites in our league so it still gave us a bit of a lift getting a point.
“In fact, the players had two good sessions this week and have worked really hard.”
