Jamie Langley column: Tonight’s game is as tough as they come but it’s the kind of game all players should look forward to.

It’s for these matches that you play the game for and I always love facing St Helens because the two teams have got plenty of history in Super League.

They have been without a few players recently through injury but a few have started coming back now, including Kyle Eastmond, so we know it’s going to be a huge task.

We’ll welcome a few back ourselves in Brett Kearney, Nick Scruton and Jason Crookes and we feel pretty refreshed after a break from action last week.

I didn’t really want to have the break because I would rather have been in the Challenge Cup semi-finals. I admit I was a little bit jealous watching the games but it’s one of those things.

All the lads have come back into training with an extra spring in their steps so hopefully we can transfer that onto the pitch.

We’ll be coming face-to-face with our future coach Mick Potter, who’s currently at Saints, and I’m sure the fans will be looking forward to it. But we’ve tried not to mention that in preparation for the game.

A few lads are possibly sorting contracts out at the minute and I suppose they’ll have it at the back of their minds because it wouldn’t do their chances any harm to play well in front of him.

Nobody should need any extra motivation though. Regardless of whether we have a shot at the play-offs or not, we have to target improvement throughout the remaining three games.

In a way, the pressure’s off so maybe we can start to enjoy our rugby and play with a little less fear.

If we do that, there’s no reason we can’t finish on a high.
