Bradford Park Avenue take on a Leeds United XI in their penultimate pre-season friendly at Horsfall Stadium tomorrow night.

Avenue boss Simon Collins was disappointed but level-headed about his team’s poor weekend performance in their 5-1 home defeat to Harrogate Town.

Collins said: “There is still work to do before our first league game against Chasetown but let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater. Harrogate are a division higher than us and have recruited well over the summer.

“Leeds started their season last Saturday and had a game tonight (a Carling Cup tie against Lincoln City) so I expect they will be sending a very young team with a handful of reserve players who need some game time.

“It will be yet another different type of game for us. All the pre-season friendlies have been arranged to give us a tough test and we have gained knowledge about our squad and pointers to who is fit enough and who needs extra work. Tomorrow will be another step along the way.”
