If Leeds United gain promotion to the Coca-Cola Football League Championship later today, manager Simon Grayson will look to firm up his recruiting plans with chairman Ken Bates next week.

Grayson has already said there will be no decision on contract renewals until he knows what division the club will be operating in next season.

If Leeds are involved in the play-offs, contractual talks and transfer activity will be delayed.

The contracts of Jermaine Beckford, Casper Ankergren, Andrew Hughes and Rui Marques expire this summer, with Beckford expected to leave and Marques considering an approach from Toronto.

In addition, Micky Doyle is keen to extend his season-long loan from Coventry, Paul Dickov's short-term deal is due to end after the season's final game, on-loan Gary McSheffrey knows his club Birmingham are not renewing his contract, while Shane Lowry, Neill Collins and Sanchez Watt are due to return to Aston Villa, Preston and Arsenal respectively.

Grayson is keen to know what transfer funds are available to him, with promotion vital to boost his spending power Grayson said: "You can't progress as a football club if you are in League One. The longer we are in this division, the more it sets us back.

"The Championship increases revenue and offers a springboard to the Premiership, which is where we want to be."
