Guiseley will have to snap out of their recent malaise tomorrow night if they are to keep their slim chances of landing the UniBond League Premier Division title intact going into Saturday’s final game of the season.

They looked certainties to win the championship and claim the one automatic promotion place at the start of the month.

However, since beating Bradford Park Avenue in back- to-back derby games, the Lions have lost their last three fixtures and have dropped to third.

Manager Steve Kittrick said: “The lads did really well to get us into top spot but it has all slipped away from us in a short space of time.

"We will have the same squad available for tomorrow night’s trip to Frickley Athletic as we did at home to Marine at the weekend.

“The players gave everything in that game - in fact they probably tried too hard. We haven’t had our regular centre back pairing in the last three games, and that makes a big difference.

“When you have a good partnership, they develop an understanding. I don’t think Danny Ellis will play again this season because his knee injury is a lot worse than we first thought.”
