Bradford City return to league action on Sunday and will look to gain quick revenge for their FA Women’s Cup extra-time defeat at the hands of Stockport County.
Visitors County are currently three points ahead of City in the Northern Combination but a 5-1 win over Guiseley in the West Riding County Cup will have given a timely boost as they try and bring some consistency to their season.
Goals from Clare Fawcett (2), Mel Garside, Whitney Taiwo and Sarah Dickens saw off Guiseley and, with holders Leeds United choosing not to defend the title, City have a good chance to repeat their 2006 success in this competition.
The draw for the last 16 will be made on December 9 but definitely joining City in the hat are Silsden, 3-2 winners at Oulton, Keighley, who won 2-0 at Leeds Medics and Dentists, Bradford Park Avenue, 3-2 winners at home to Ossett Town, and Kirklees, who won 2-1 at Northowram.
Guiseley go to unbeaten Whitley Bay in the North East Regional League Premier Division on Sunday knowing they must get a positive result to keep a realistic promotion chance alive.
The north-east side are currently in second place, six points clear of Guiseley with a game in hand.
In Division One (South), Bradford City A are struggling for consistency.
They go to Wetherby on the back of a disappointing 3-2 defeat at home to Wakefield reserves, while Keighley go to promotion-chasing Sheffield United juniors.
Avenue, second in the West Riding County League Premier Division, host Selby side Brayton Belles, while Silsden are at home to Kirklees.
