Max Gradel looks set to be Leeds boss Simon Grayson’s first signing as soon as the transfer window opens in January.

The exciting winger has had his loan spell from Leicester extended to January 2 and hinted strongly that he would like to make the stay permanent beyond that.

Gradel said: “I’m happy to be back here. I’m enjoying it here and I need to get my confidence up and my fitness levels high.

“Leicester thought it was better for me to be playing first-team football so agreed to an extension of the loan.

“I haven’t spoken to the manager (Nigel Pearson) but I hope to speak to him in January and see what opportunities are available to me.”

Gradel has quickly become a favourite with the fans at Elland Road.

He has played five games for United so far, scoring one goal and winning a man of the match nomination after coming on from the bench.
