Mark Bett could be appearing at Nethermoor for a second debut on Saturday after returning to Guiseley from neighbours and UniBond League rivals Bradford Park Avenue.

Guiseley host Frickley Athletic in a Premier Division clash just a week after putting their West Yorkshire opponents out of the FA Trophy. The reward for that was a home derby tie against FC Halifax Town in a fortnight.

Lions boss Steve Kittrick confirmed Bett was in contention, saying: “Mark will come straight into the squad because Jamie Walshaw is suspended for this one. Jamie played well last week and we did a professional job to get the win at their place.

“I know Billy (Heath, Frickley’s manager) very well and he had a few players out for that cup tie. He has a centre back and a midfielder coming back and he signed John Groome from Avenue, around the time when we signed Betsy.

“They will probably have more changes to their squad for this second game in a week than we will, so if anything it’s us who will have to get our preparation right.

“We can’t be complacent just because we won at their place. I’m sure that would be a recipe for disaster.”
