Clayborn is likely to be graced by a Wembley winner on Saturday when Liversedge host Rainworth MW in the Kool Sport Northern Counties East League.

The visitors have signed Nigel Jemson, who won the League Cup with Nottingham Forest under Brian Clough.

Jemson, no stranger to West Yorkshire, had a spell in management at Halifax Town but has expressed a desire to continue his playing career.

His arrival at Rainworth has not pleased all of the club’s supporters but the 40-year-old forward did lay on the goal in a 1-0 victory on his debut last weekend.

Sedge will have to be on top form to defeat their visitors, with or without Jemson’s magic. They may be just four places behind Rainworth, who are fourth in the Premier Division, but trail their rivals by 11 points.

Rainworth are just three points behind leaders Bridlington Town, so will be going all out for the win themselves.

Thackley are one point better off and desperate to stay ahead of local rivals Sedge but they too have a home fixture against a team who will be more focused on their own agenda.

The visitors to Dennyfield are Long Eaton United, who would leapfrog their hosts with a win.

The Reds will be desperate to get back to winning ways after suffering two frustrating defeats on the trot. They lost at second-placed Scarborough Athletic last weekend and were dumped out of the West Riding County Cup by UniBond League Premier Division outfit Ossett Town in midweek, both times by the odd goal.

In Division One, the clash between Staveley MW and Brighouse Town sees former Thackley and Liversedge managers going head to head. Staveley, under former Reds boss Billy Fox, host Mark Brier’s Town.

The home side are second in the table but fifth-placed Town are only three points off the summit themselves and a win for ex-Sedge boss Brier’s current club would shake up the business end of the table.

Eccleshill United remain rooted to the bottom but they have the incentive of knowing a win on Saturday would lift them as they host fellow strugglers Hemsworth MW. Just two points separate the clubs but the Eagles have played one more fixture.

Silsden face a tough home game in the Vodkat League Premier Division as they await a visit from second-placed Congleton Town.

The Cobbydalers have dropped to 13th spot, while their visitors are very much the best of the rest as they trail leaders Newcastle Town by a huge 11 points.
