Farsley Celtic face a tough trip on Saturday as they look for points to stay clear of the Blue Square North relegation zone.

The Celts head to Nottingham to take on Eastwood Town, who are fifth, after suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to second-placed Corby Town last Saturday. That marked the end of a five-game unbeaten run for Neil Parsley’s men.

Parsley was pleased with every aspect of his squad during a run which produced 13 points and with their effort in last week’s loss.

“That was a great game of football, with both sides creating chances and both squads turning in very good displays,” said the Celts boss.

“Taking nothing from it was very hard for us but it was better than just giving a good account of ourselves. I thought we had a cutting edge about us and worked very hard with and without the ball.

“We knew these back-to-back games against sides around the top of the table would be very tough for us but the Corby manager accepted that we were a good side and were unlucky to come out of the game without at least a point.

“We made their keeper work, hit the woodwork and had shots and headers cleared off the line. I really thought we would get at least an equaliser late on – but we didn’t and that’s football.

“There were no new injuries so there is no reason to alter the squad. All the available players will be in contention and we will look to start another run going.”
