Graeme Lee will laugh off the City boo boys at Meadow Lane on Friday night.

The former Bantams skipper has come in for abuse in the two meetings with Notts County this season – especially when he was sent off at Valley Parade last month.

Lee is expecting another dose of stick in the FA Cup first round but doesn’t mind at all.

He said: “I don’t take it personally. It’s just a bit of banter and puts a smile on my face.

“You expect it. Every player is going to get some boos when you face your old club and I don’t take it to heart.

“When I played at Doncaster at the start of the season, I got a nice clap off their supporters. But it’s different how things work out, especially when I’ve just left Bradford.”

Having played in the league and Johnstone’s Paint Trophy already, the teams are getting sick of the sight of each other.

Lee added: “I didn’t watch the cup draw live but someone phoned me and said ‘you’ll never guess who you’ve got.’

“My first reaction was ‘it can’t be them again!’ The number of times we’ve played already, you can probably predict it will be a replay even before it’s kicked off. But it’s a game to look forward to.

“The first day was just one of those games when everything went for us and we performed really well.

“But Bradford have bounced back since and they’ve got a strong team. Stuart’s sides will always be fit and organised and they have picked up.

“We know that from the last time we played them in the JPT.”

Lee is keen to gloss over his Valley Parade return, which saw him red-carded for two bookable offences before City snatched the win in a penalty shoot-out.

“It was my first game back from injury and I was really up for it. But it didn’t exactly work out the way I’d hoped.

“I felt very harshly done by but I was more disappointed than anything.”

Lee scored City’s winner at MK Dons at the same stage last season with a sledgehammer free-kick.

He saved County’s unbeaten home league record on Saturday with a late diving header against Shrewsbury – his first goal since scoring for City against Chesterfield almost a year ago. It was also Swede Hans Backe’s first game in charge following Ian McParland’s sacking.

Lee added: “A lot’s been going on at the club so it’s nice to be settled.

“I’ve been impressed with the new manager, although he hasn’t changed too much in the team. It’s important that we’ve kept the home form going and we’ll be confident against Bradford.

“And hopefully it will get settled this week. Everybody wants it to be done on the night.”

* City enter the FA Youth Cup tonight when they face Southport in the first round at Valley Parade. The winners will host Crewe, who beat Leeds 1-0 at Elland Road last night.
