Simon Grayson was delighted with the way his side bounced back to beat Bristol Rovers 4-0 straight after their first defeat of the season at Millwall.
The Leeds United boss said: “We spoke after Saturday’s game and again in the team meeting before the Bristol match about putting on a performance and showing a response and I thought we were outstanding from the first whistle right the way through.
“We had a fantastic work ethic, we played quality football and had enough energy and purpose about us.”
Grayson praised the effort of two-goal hero Jermaine Beckford but also picked out the display by midfielder Jonny Howson, who he described as “terrific.”
He added: “We want to raise the bar a bit, be solid and keep clean sheets but also express ourselves and I thought we did it so well.”
Meanwhile, it has been announced that Leeds’ FA Cup tie at Oldham on November 7 will kick off at 5.15pm. It will also be the first FA Cup tie to be shown live on the internet, available free of charge on www.thefa.com.
