Bristol Rovers 0, Leeds United 4

Sam Vokes scored his first goal for Leeds in a 4-0 win at Bristol Rovers which takes Simon Grayson’s side four points clear at the top of League One.

It was the kind of response the manager was looking for following their first defeat at Millwall on Saturday.

Jermaine Beckford put them on their way after eight minutes in a bright start and even though they took time to stamp their domination on the hosts, Leeds always looked the better side.

Beckford went on to produce a second superb finish, bewildering his marker before slotting home his tenth of the season, and Tresor Kandol came off the bench to hit the fourth.

Grayson kept faith with the side that lost at the Den and brought goalkeeper Alan Martin on to the bench after recalling him from Accrington Stanley.

It was soon clear Beckford had too much pace for the home defenders and he left them standing when he latched onto a pass from Michael Doyle and coolly slotted home.

Beckford should have put Leeds further ahead just before half-time but failed to react when Mikkel And-ersen spilled Bradley John-son’s shot.

Leeds were completely on top in the second half and after great work between Beckford and Robert Snod-grass, Vokes opened his account with a simple tap in.

With the home defence looking as though they would rather have been anywhere else but on the pitch, Beckford struck again and when he was replaced, Kandol got in on the act two minutes from time to complete the rout.
